Thank You to Our Neighbors
January 1, 2018

To our neighbors,

As we enter 2018, it is important for us here at Mamaroneck EMS to recognize your support over the past year, and to renew our commitment to the health and safety of our friends and family in the Village of Mamaroneck. With over 13,000 volunteer hours logged in 2017, we look forward to continuing to provide high quality emergency medical response in our local community.

The past twelve months have been full of growth and accomplishments for our agency and our individual membership. We’ve gained twelve exceptional new members; collaborated on training exercises with the US Coast Guard, My Sister’s Place, and Guiding Eyes for the Blind; taught over thirty Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts the importance of knowing First Aid; and were the honored recipients of a Certificate of Appreciation from the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge #1457.

In recognition of a dedicated commitment to emergency medical care demonstrated through tremendous achievement and growth, Mamaroneck EMS was also proud to accept a Unit Citation from the Westchester Regional EMS Council.

In 2017 we welcomed the addition of 68-A1, a 2016 F-350 Horton Ambulance designed to meet the specific needs of the Village and our Agency while adhering to best practice of emergency vehicle design. In addition to the trucks cutting edge technology and mechanics, 68-A1 is equipped with industry leading safety equipment including patient compartment airbags to protect both our crew and our patients in the unlikely event of a motor vehicle accident. The truck is also equipped with a durable and fuel efficient diesel engine, allowing for continuous use with less downtime for maintenance than a gasoline engine.

Our individual members have been hard at work achieving new certifications allowing us to congratulate six new Emergency Medical Technicians, one new Paramedic, and five additional certified drivers.

With over thirty standbys and community events this year in the Village of Mamaroneck and Rye Neck, we are excited to enter the New Year strong, reinvigorated and dedicated to our neighbors. As always, thank you for your support of Mamaroneck EMS, and have a Happy New Year.
