|A Letter from the Chief|
|March 22, 2020|
As the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to evolve, our primary commitment to the health and safety of our patients and volunteers remains our top priority. In these uncertain times, we reaffirm our commitment to the residents of the Village of Mamaroneck to provide high-quality and compassionate patient care.
Our motto, “together we can save lives” has more relevance now than ever. We must all do our part in protecting the health and safety of our community by observing the social distancing and hand hygiene guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and executive orders from the Governor and the New York State Department of Health.
If you are sick with COVID-19 or think you may have it, the CDC recommends calling your primary care physician for proper care instructions. If you develop emergency warning signs for COVID-19 including difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion or inability to arouse, or bluish lips or face, get medical attention immediately. If you have a medical emergency and need to call 911, please notify the operator that you have or think you might have COVID-19.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve received several inquiries from members of our community on how they may best assist the volunteers at Mamaroneck EMS. We appreciate all those who have reached out and offered their support. The most impactful way to assist our current operations is through a financial donation. Community members can donate to Mamaroneck EMS by visiting our website, www.mamaroneckems.org.
Stay informed, stay safe, and on behalf of the Board of Directors and officers of Mamaroneck EMS we wish everyone the best of health.
Jason J. Capalbo, Chief
